Backpacker Accommodation
Backpacker accommodation in Australia is located near all the
major tourist destinations and cities. In Queensland there are a
number of destinations that are on every backpacker’s itinerary
and in this website you will find a choice of standards of accommodation
in almost every centre. Most backpackers enter Queensland from the
south, having just visited Byron Bay and their first destination
is the Gold Coast.
The Gold Coast is home to some of the worlds finest surfing beaches,
wonderful theme parks, thrill rides including bungy jumping and
trips to the hinterland which feature fabulous scenery including
rainforests, waterfalls, lakes and mountain vistas. The Gold Coast
caters for everyone and there are restaurants, cafes and shopping
centres to cater for the needs of any traveler. We recommend Gold
Coast International Backpackers in this area as it is very centrally
located in Surfers Paradise and it is only 150 meters or so to the
beach.
The next destination for most backpackers accommodation is the
Hervey Bay and Fraser Island area. Fraser Island is considered to
be a must see in any backpackers itinerary and Hervey Bay is the
major jumping off point. Hervey Bay is also famous as the Whale
Watch Capital of the World and from mid July to early November it
is possible to get up close and personal to these gentle giants.
Fraser Island can be accessed through a wide range of tours and
self drive adventures. Information on these is available in this
website. Backpacker accommodation is available in both Hervey Bay
and on Fraser Island. We recommend Beaches backpackers accommodation
, Colonial backpackers, Next backpackers and Palace backpackers
in Hervey Bay and on Fraser Island, Cathederal Beach, Eurong Beach
and Kingfisher Bay Wilderness lodge. From Hervey Bay you can also
visit the Great Barrier Reef through Lady Elliot Island and enjoy
either a day trip or an extended stay where diving visibility is
rarely less than 20 meters and the coral is the best that the Barrier
Reef has to offer.
The next port of call for almost every backpacker accommodation
is the Whitsundays and Airlie Beach. Here you will find a host of
water sport oriented activities. There are an endless supply of
day and extended yachting trips, diving and snorkeling adventures
and trips to the fabulous Great Barrier Reef. Airlie Beach is famous
for its party atmosphere and the main shopping centre is always
alive with activities. Be wary of cheap offers in this area as some
of the lower priced operators cut many corners when it comes to
the quality of your experience. We recommend Beaches backpackers
or Whitsunday Wanderers when staying in Airlie Beach as they are
situated right in the heart of town and walking distance to everything.
The next port of call on everyones list is the world famous city
of Cairns. Cairns has much to offer and this region really caters
for Great Barrier Reef oriented activities including diving snorkeling
and fishing. To the west lie the Atherton Tablelands with their
magnificent rainforests, Lakes and Waterfalls. A trip via the sky
rail and back by train to Kuranda is essential in all itinerarys
and to the North you must visit the Daintree rainforest, Cape Tribulation,
Cooktown, Mossman and the beautiful Mossman Gorge for a swim in
a crystal clear mountain river. In Cairns we recommend you stay
at either Bohemia resort or Nomads Serpent Resort.
Cairns backpackers accommodation ranges from beachfront resorts
and apartments through international hotels and casinos and includes
inner city and esplanade resorts, hoels, apartments and backpacker
accommodation hostels. The city of Cairns itself lies on a magnificent
inlet and the port and marina area is right in the centre of town.
Thi is the hub for all the dive and snorkelling trips to the Great
Barrier Reef and surrounding islands such as Green Island with its
wonderful resort and underwater observatory.
In the city area there is a wide range of backpackers accommodation
to choose from. At the top end is the Cairns outrigger resort, the
Sofitel Reef casino resort and the Cairns International Hotel. There
is also a wide range of new apartment properties which include Prime
Pacific Jack and Newell Apartments, Mantra Trilogy, Breakfree Royal
Harbour, Getaway on Grafton, Southern Cross apartments, Oaks City
Quays, Oaks Piermonde Apartments. Along the esplanade there is a
string of quality resorts and hotels and apartments including Tradewinds
resort, Waterfront Terraces, North cove Waterfront Suites, Rydges
esplanade resort, Rydges Plaza and Plaza hotel Cairns. Situated
within the cbd area there is a range of accommodation including
The Hotel Cairns, Prime Central Plaza, Bohemia resort, The Citisider
apartments, The Grosvenor in Cairns, Club Crocodile- Hides Hotel,
Il Pallazzo Boutique hotel, The Lakes Cairns Resort and Spa and
Inn Cairns apartments.

Beach resort, Prime Trinity Beach Pacific, Seachange Beachfront
apartments and Marlin Cove Resort. For Palm Cove accommodation click

options in the Cairns hinterland. These include Voyages Wrotham
Park Station which is a working cattle station and Peppers Bloomfield
lodge.
Our helpful staff will be most happy to answer any questions you
may have and to assist you with booking tours to enhance your holiday
experience in the Cairns & Port Douglas area. Some of the must
sees are The Great Barrier reef, The Atherton Tableland, The Skyrail
and Kuranda including the rail trip across the Barron Falls, The
Daintree Rainforst, Cape Tribulation and Cooktown. Your Cairns North
Queensland holiday will be filled with many memorable experiences
and will be remembered as the best ever.
Cairns Backpacker accommodation, Australia, caters for the needs
of all backpackers accommodation coming to north Queensland to visit
the local attractions such as The Great Barrier Reef, the Atherton
Tableland, Cape Tribulation, Cooktown and the fabulous Daintree
Rainforest. There are also a myriad of tropical beaches and islands
to explore not to mention all of the wonderful adventure experiences
to be had like white water rafting on the Tully River, skydiving,
bungy jumping and scuba diving in some of the most beautiful coral
waters in the world.
Cairns is located in far north Queensland and can be accessed by
coach as well as by air with both domestic and international services
being available. There are many backpacker hostels and tours available
in the region. Hostels range from extremely basic to top of the
range and it is wise to book carefully. Many hostels are recommended
purely on the basis of the level of commission that they pay and
this does not always lead you to a quality establishment. We recommend
only two hostels which are both renowned for their quality. Bohemia
resort is set on a half a hectare of landscaped gardens and offers
a wide range of room types including dorms, rooms with share facilities
and others with ensuite facilities. There is a large communal kitchen,
great swimming pool and excellent television facilities. This backpacker
resort is located very close to the city of Cairns.
The other property which we recommend is Nomads Serpent resort.
This property is located only a short walk from the Cairns esplanade
and has many great features. The hostel offers fully air conditioned
rooms, dorms, doubles and twins with ensuites as well as private
double, twin and single rooms. There is a large well equipped communal
kitchen, terrific swimming pool, a television and internet facilities.
In this website you will find loads of information on accommodation,
tours and attractions to assist you to plan and book your Cairns
backpacker accommodation and holiday.
